General

The county is a shared story. Treat the woods, the townsfolk, and the people behind the screen with the same care.

  1. 01Respect every player and staff member. Harassment, hate speech, and discrimination are removed from the county without debate.
  2. 02Staff direction during an active scene is followed. Disputes go to a ticket after the scene, not in the middle of it.
  3. 03Do not advertise other communities, sell accounts, or trade real-money influence inside RedWood County.
  4. 04Voice and text in public spaces stay in character unless a scene is paused by staff or a clearly marked OOC channel is used.
  5. 05Exploits, menu dumps, and bug abuse are treated as cheating. Report the hole; do not walk through it.

RP Standards

We play a lived-in wilderness county. Scenes should feel like they could happen on a muddy logging road at dusk.

  1. 01Stay in character in the world. Break character only when staff authorize it or when a mechanical issue truly blocks play.
  2. 02No fail RP. Your character fears injury, jail, reputation, and the dark between the trees.
  3. 03No metagaming. Radio traffic, Discord pings, and stream overlays are not your character's memory.
  4. 04No powergaming. You do not force another player's outcome, search result, or injury without room for response.
  5. 05Value your life (VYOL). Reckless heroics without buildup are not bravery; they are a scene killer.
  6. 06New major crime, kidnappings, and raids need buildup, numbers that make sense, and a reason the county would notice.

Character Rules

Characters are the county's memory. Build people who could belong here — mill hands, deputies, drifters, and families with roots in the redwoods.

  1. 01Names should sound like they belong on a county form, not a scoreboard. No meme names, titles in the name field, or celebrity copies.
  2. 02Backstories stay grounded. Supernatural origins, secret super-soldiers, and unearned federal credentials will be returned.
  3. 03You may run multiple characters, but they cannot share knowledge, money, or faction rank without staff approval.
  4. 04Character death is meaningful. NLR (new life rule) applies: the deceased character does not recall the events of their death.
  5. 05If a character is retired or Permadeath'd, that story is closed. Do not rerun the same person under a cousin's name the next night.

Vehicle / Combat

The timber roads are narrow, the fog is real, and gunfire carries. Combat is a last chapter, not an opening line.

  1. 01RDM and VDM are prohibited. Shots and ramming require roleplay that would justify them to a witness.
  2. 02Fear RP applies in vehicle stops, robberies, and ambushes. A compact car does not outrun a rifle on a switchback.
  3. 03Police pursuits end when they would end in a real county — spike strips, PIT policy, and radio traffic matter.
  4. 04Military-grade weapons, explosives, and aircraft are restricted to approved factions and events.
  5. 05Looting a downed player is a scene, not a shopping trip. Identify, narrate, and leave room for EMS.

Staff Conduct

Staff are rangers of the community, not bosses of the story. The same canopy covers everyone who holds a key.

  1. 01Staff do not win scenes with admin tools. In-character rank is earned in the world, not in the Discord overlay.
  2. 02Reports are handled in tickets with a paper trail. Favoritism and off-books punishments are themselves a violation.
  3. 03Conflicts of interest — friends, faction mates, or your own character — are handed to another staff member.
  4. 04Public-facing titles on the staff directory must match the role assigned in the staff portal.
  5. 05Staff may pause a scene to protect a player or the server. They then restore the scene or explain why it cannot continue.

Scenes stay in character. If a rule is unclear or a call feels wrong, the desk takes it after — never in the middle of the timber.
