RedWood County RP: Development Update: Version 2.0

RedWood County RP is moving into a major new chapter. Behind the scenes, the team has been hard at work laying the groundwork for Version 2.0, a update focused on stability, infrastructure, and long-term quality of life for the whole community. This post is a deep dive into everything currently in motion, what's being tested, and what you can expect as we move toward release. Grab a coffee there's a lot to cover.

Where We Stand Right Now:

RedWood County RP continues to run on its current, stable setup while 2.0 development happens in parallel. Nothing about the live experience changes until we're fully ready this is about building the next version right, not rushing it out the door.

For those wondering: yes, we're staying with vMenu as our admin/moderation tool for the time being. It's reliable, the team knows it well, and it lets us focus our development time on the areas that will actually move the needle for players, rather than reinventing tools that already work.

Infrastructure: Moving to Our Own Dedicated Server

One of the biggest changes coming with 2.0 is a full hosting migration we're moving RedWood County RP off its current hosting setup and onto our own dedicated server infrastructure.

Why this matters:

More control. Owning the hardware/environment means we can tune performance, security, and uptime without being boxed in by a third-party host's limitations.

Better long-term stability. A dedicated server gives us headroom to grow more scripts, more players, more systems without the server buckling under load.

Faster issue response. When something goes wrong, we're not waiting on a support ticket queue. We can act immediately.

This migration is a foundational piece of 2.0 a lot of what comes after (smoother scripts, fewer random issues, more consistent performance) depends on getting this right first.

Fixing Issues & Permissions:

Alongside the server move, we're doing a full pass on known issues and permission structures across the server. This includes:

Cleaning up permission tiers so that roles, ranks, and access levels behave exactly as intended no more edge cases where someone has access they shouldn't, or is missing access they need.

Working through the backlog of reported bugs and inconsistencies that have built up over time.

Making sure the underlying framework is solid before we start layering new features on top of it.

This is less flashy than new content, but it's the kind of work that makes everything else feel better fewer weird bugs, fewer "why can't I do this" moments, and a smoother experience across the board.

Scripts & Addons Currently in Testing:

A number of scripts and addons are actively being worked on and tested to make sure they're stable before they go anywhere near the live server. Right now, the team is in the process of testing one of these in detail to confirm it works exactly as intended no shortcuts, no "should be fine" actually verified before it moves forward.

This careful, one-at-a-time testing approach is intentional. We'd rather take a bit longer and catch problems now than push something out and have it cause chaos on the live server later.

Vehicles Being Checked for Issues

The vehicle side of things is also getting a thorough once-over.

Cars are being checked individually to catch any issues handling problems, visual glitches, spawn issues, or anything else that could affect the driving and RP experience.

Vehicles are one of the most-used, most-visible parts of any RP server, so making sure they're clean and issue-free is a priority before 2.0 goes live.

Keeping Things Clean: No Leaks, Official Sources Only:

A big part of this update cycle is also about integrity making sure everything running on the server is legitimate. That means:

Only using official, properly licensed/allowed resources no leaked scripts, no gray-area addons.

Actively checking for and removing anything that shouldn't be there.

This matters for a few reasons: legal and licensing reasons aside, leaked resources are often outdated, insecure, or riddled with hidden bugs (or worse) that the original creators have long since patched. Keeping our resource list clean and official means a more stable, more secure, more trustworthy server for everyone.

Custom Scripts & Features In Development:

Beyond fixing and testing what already exists, the team is also actively building out custom scripts and features designed specifically for RedWood County RP. These are homegrown additions meant to give the server its own identity rather than relying purely on off-the-shelf resources.

We're not detailing every specific feature just yet some of this is still early in development and subject to change but the goal is to bring things to RWCRP that make it feel distinct, polished, and built with this community in mind.

A New Launcher:

Also in the pipeline: a custom RedWood County RP launcher. Instead of joining through the standard FiveM client UI, this launcher will:

Carry its own RWCRP branding custom logo and intro, built specifically for this server.

Launch FiveM in the background, without exposing the default FiveM interface to players.

Give the whole "getting into the server" experience a cleaner, more professional, more ours feel from the very first click.

This is still in development, but it's a piece we're genuinely excited about it's a small thing on paper, but it goes a long way toward making RWCRP feel like its own product rather than just another FiveM server.

…And There's More

This update covers the major pillars of what's happening right now, but it's not the full list. There's more planned beyond what's outlined here some of it still being finalized, some of it intentionally being kept under wraps until it's ready to be shown properly. As things solidify, we'll continue sharing updates.

Timeline & Testing:

We know the question everyone wants answered is: when?

Here's where things stand honestly:

No release date has been set yet. We'd rather give you an accurate picture than a guess we can't hit.

Before anything goes public, our admin team will be brought in to test working through the server hands-on, hunting for issues, and helping refine things before real players ever see it.

Once internal testing has run its course and the team is confident in what we've got, we'll move toward an official release announcement with a firm date.

In short: testing comes first, official announcement comes later. We're not going to rush a date just to have one on the calendar.

Thank You

None of this happens overnight, and we appreciate the community's patience while it comes together behind the scenes. Version 2.0 represents a real step forward for RedWood County RP better infrastructure, cleaner systems, new features, and a more polished experience from the moment you launch the game.

More updates will follow as development continues. Stay tuned.
